In this day and age, when the world is moving faster than a cheetah on speed, it’s important to know as many iPhone tips and tricks as possible – read on to find out a few that you may or may not have been aware of…like the Mac, the iPhone has ways of making life a little easier!

•    Take me to the top…

This little trick gets you to the top of any application at the simple press of the touch screen – all you have to do is tap the “top bar” at the top of the screen and you’ll immediately be launched straight back up the page.  Simple!

•    Let’s start again…

Sometimes the best devices crash, but when they do you should know how to reset it so you can carry on using it.  Well, it’s easy.  All you have to do is hold down the Home button and the Sleep button.

A white light will flash and the screen will switch off but don’t worry because it will pop back on in a second – however, keep pressing the buttons until the screen switches back on.

•    Screen grabs are the way forward!

There is another use for the combination of the Home button and the Sleep button – you can take funky screen grabs!  All you have to do is hold the Home button down and click the Sleep button – done!

•    When a screen grab isn’t enough?

If you want to save an image without having the added footage that comes with a screen grab then simply take your finger and press and hold it on to the image.

You will see a menu that pops up giving the option to either save the image or to cancel the process – save the image and its in your camera roll for you to do what you want with it.

•    Back and Forth and Back and Forth…

Sometimes in life we need to be able to fast forward or rewind music – it’s just one of those things.  With a cassette player all you had to do was hold down a little button while the tape whizzed forward or backwards as you made a guess as to how far through the song you had travelled.

With the iPhone it is even easier.  Press and hold the forward or back symbols to move around the song and you can watch the timeline move around so you know where you are in the song.

•    Say goodbye to “www”…

The days of wasting time typing in “www” or “.com” are fading away as you now don’t have to worry about typing in the letters if your search engine in Safari is set to Google.

If you wanted to skip along to the BBC website all you would have to do is type in “BBC” and away you go – at the BBC site without a “.co.uk” in site.
