From the birth of computer games we have managed to remain addicted - from Sonic to Mario to Guitar Hero to Zelda…we have managed to get hooked on games and one day woken up having no clue where the past 4 weeks have gone.
Today things aren’t much easier, in fact they are a lot worse - thanks to our friends over at Apple we have a way of accessing games on the AppStore to get addicted to over and over again, and once we have broken our addictions we can move on to the next game - it’s a painful cycle that we just love to take part in.
Here are some of the most addictive games available for the iPhone that you should play if you don’t have a job to lose or a girlfriend that you mind walking out…
Sky Burger - the aim of the game is to catch ingredients that make up a hamburger. Although the premise for the game is ridiculous you’ll be surprised at how addictive the game actually is! Especially is you’re hungry!
ScribBall - You spend your time popping multi-coloured bubbles. It sounds addictive and guess what, it is! And the best part of this game is that it’s fun for your missus too so you can trick her into getting addicted while you play other games.
Light Wars - Vector gaming fortunately died a quick death in the 80s when we all decided to get style and lose the ripped jeans…today when a vector game tries to make a come back there’s nothing we can do, we have to play it and of course we’re going to get addicted!
Mino - Tetris rip offs will never be gone, and here we have another one. But no matter how they copy the game we still can’t help but play it until the cows come home! This version manages to throw in a couple of different modes and net play, but when it comes down to it we just want to get the shapes in the gaps!
Cannon Challenge - This little gem comes to us from the Discovery Channel. It’s a bit like worms but without the fun and more of the thought! You can’t shoot in a straight line so you have to shoot over hills, etc. It’s addictive so you obviously don’t think too much…don’t worry!
Crash Landing - It’s you and a space ship…what do you think you have to do? Crash land it of course, but with more of the landing and less of the crashing preferably. You’ll find that frustration will kick in and you will want to get the landing spot on through each stage of the game - frustration equals addiction!
