Budget Game iDracula Zooms Up To Top Of iPhone Charts
Cream of the crop for 59p…
iDracula has taken its place at the top of the iPhone charts as it would seem that the price tag of a mere 59p does indeed make all the difference.
It would seem that the recession is also making its presence known on the iPhone as well as in the economy as the budget game, iDracula, has been boosted all the way up to the top of the charts – it would seem that the game is cheap, cheerful and just what the iPhone ordered.
iDracula was originally launched at around the same price as a can of Coke but the future isn’t looking so cheap for the game which is said to be raised to around £1.79 in the near future.
Winning methodology!
It’s a good method for gaming developers – release the game as cheap as chips, get everyone addicted and then hike up the price…winner!
The same thing happened with the arcade racer game, Days of Thunder, which was launched at a meagre fee only to be throttled up to the top of the paid-for gaming charts.
iDracula invites the handheld gamer to put himself in the position of a vampire hunter who has been placed in a position where he himself is actually the one being hunted.
Addictive, intense…and did I mention it was 59p?
The game is one of those addictive games that you can’t really get enough of, fighting off vampires, werewolves, witches and monsters – intense…and for the simple price of 59p – you can’t go wrong, that’s why it’s so successful.
Using both thumbs, the player must direct the vampire slayer using two analogue touch pads to shoot the enemy. Basically all you have to worry about is switching off and firing – the idea behind a lot of successful games…
Updates are said to be on their way for the game that are set to bring an extra couple of levels to the game as well as new creatures, weapons and a new game mode.
Celebration time at the MoreGames office?
As we can all imagine it’s pretty exciting getting your game all the way up to the top of the iPhone chart, winning over hearts and imaginations on the way.
The champagne must be finding its way around the offices at MoreGames as we speak, after all other games that have achieved the same success have gone on to find their way into the record books and the developers have laughed all the way to the bank.
iDracula in the right place or did you have other plans?
So iDracula is at the top of the pile, but do you think it deserves to be sat there all proud as punch or do you have a better game on your iPhone that you think deserves the limelight more?
Let us know what you reckon…
