DSONEi Hacks DSi…(But It’s Not The First)…
Pirated DSi - It’s about time, oh wait it’s old news guys…
It seemed so perfect for Nintendo - they released their brand new DSi gaming console with high hopes of finally kicking the pirated bucket - they claimed that pirates would be finally halted with this new release of a Nintendo gaming console and they were sitting high and mighty for months…but now it’s all over.
That’s right, the pirates have won once again - the DSi has been cracked and a slew of illegally downloaded or bought games can now find their way onto the DSi with precious little worries blocking their paths.
They thought they were so cool…
From the upgrade from the DS to the DSi Nintendo claimed that they had found a way to stop illegal flash cards from working on their console - in fact they even managed to get some of them banned through the Japanese courts in an attempt to put a stopper in the illegal activities.
But in almost no time at all the pirates have managed to find a work around that will allows them to play pirated games at the blink of an eye.
Back in the old DS’s day it was fairly easy to get hold of an R4 chip and away you were - Nintendo had hoped to have managed to get away from the pirates with their new DSi, but that has now been proven to be an impossibility with the introduction of the DSONEi.
DSONEi - It ain’t the first…
The DSONEi is being hailed as the first device out there that allows DSi users to have a play on copied games on the DSi - it involves running a custom firmware that is easily updated.
However, wait a second - stop the presses…something’s not right. Although the web is alight with news about this so called Supercard (actually developed by a team called Supercard), this isn’t REALLY the first opportunity DSi users have had to play pirated games on their DSi units.
That’s right. Although Internet bloggers everywhere are touting the release of the DSONEi as being the saviours of the pirated community, the likes of R4i Revolution, Acekard2i and TTDSi have been around for a while and have been making gamers happy from England to Japan.
It’s hard to understand why the DSONEi has been receiving so much good press with regards to its launch. It seems to do the same pirated job as the others that have been around for longer so it’s really just another player in the pirated race.
