Nintendo Making The World Fit? The Top 2 Nintendo Fitness Games On The Market!

Stop telling me what to do Nintendo…

Nintendo like to think that they can make the world fit with a few simple games and a lot of enthusiasm.  Now they’re throwing another fitness game into the mix with “Walk With Me!” that is set to be released on June 5th.

The game involves, you guessed it, walking, and is supplied with two pedometers so that you can keep track of your steps.  If the biggest challenge you want from your DS is to be able to reach your daily 10,000 steps then this is the game for you.

But what’s with Nintendo’s fascination with fitness software?  They love it!  Walk With Me is not Nintendo’s first attempt to get the world fit and healthy – the release of Wii Fit opened the floodgates for the fit gaming generation and now we’re just left with a long list of different games that apparently offer the same thing…

So what are the fitness games that should have a place on your mantelpiece?  I think it’s fair to say that the Wii is the master of the fitness gaming experiences – you can’t run with a PS3 strapped to your back…so if fitness is your game then make sure you have one of these titles to keep you fit.

EA Sports Active

EA are the masters of the sports/gaming titles and so it would be pretty obvious that this addition to their library would also be a best-seller.  In fact this game was set to be a best-seller before it even hit the stores!

So what do you get for your money?  How about a personal trainer, much needed hints and feedback when you need it?  Sounds good to us…EA Sports Active is a great way of getting as fit as you can without leaving the comfort of your living room.

The game will even let you do challenges so you can track your BMI and fitness over a 30 day period – will we be seeing this game in gyms soon?  I think so…

Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2009

The name leaves little to the imagination and is even a little off-putting but the actual game delivers without a worry.  And who is Jillian Michaels I hear you cry?  Apparently she is hugely popular in the States for being a health and fitness expert and now you can grab all of her attention right in the middle of your living room.

You get diet plans with useful tips which Jillian assures you will help you to lose weight.  She keeps a check on your BMI through the magic of Wii Fit and she sets up a fitness regime specifically for you and your overweight self…you expect pressure little more from a full time dietician, in fact the game goes further than reality by being ready whenever you are…

Getting fit or dying trying?

Do you think Nintendo holds the key to your fitness and weight loss or do you think you should just eat fewer Mars bars and go for a walk?  Let us know what you think…
