Now You can Control the US Election Race

Here in the UK the American election race doesn’t seem to be bothering anyone. We have the classically relaxed view of, “let’s just wait and see what happens”. In America however, everyone is going a bit batty over Obama, McCain and the “pitbull” Palin. And what better way to capitalise on this entire furore? An iPhone election race game, of course.

Developer David Dennis has turned the whole mud-slinging-fest into an iPhone strategy game, timed to capitalise on election fever in the US.

Called WhiteHouse, the game grants you control of the presidential campaign for Obama or McCain (or even Hillary Clinton) in the race to the Whitehouse. Your job will be responding to news events, speaking at rallies, raising cash and buying advertising, amongst others.

This could have been done in a quick and inevitably cheesy way, but the game is actually put together really well. Using statistics from the Pew Research Center for the People and Press, as well as data from the Almanac of American Politics, this game is a smart cookie.

If you’re addicted to the US election, then you can grab this from the Apple App Store for £3.49.
