EA has announced the new arrival of the latest game in its popular SimCity franchise: SimCity: Metropolis, and its only available on mobile.

The follow-on to SimCity: Societies, out earlier this year, the newest version of the long running series maintains the previous titles good points, and gives the game a much needed boost with some new features.

The games premise is extremely simple: You are in control of a small city, which you will have to build upon until it becomes a sprawling metropolis teeming with life.

Your task is to improve three specific areas: Downtown, Industrial and Residential. Each area comes with its own set of challenges, and allows you to build up to 120 different types of buildings, over the games 18 levels.

It looks like the developers have improved the story telling of the game, but has managed to maintain the funny side of the game that has made previous titles great.

The game is out now, and judging by the financial crisis, this could be the only house you’ll build this year.
