Steal Cars, Shoot People…GTA is Back
With the release of GTA: Chinatown Wars on Nintendo DS, imminent, details thus far have been scarce. We knew it would feature over 20 hours of gameplay, it’s aimed at adults, and that the stylus would be used. Other that that, we didn’t know much, until now…
This month’s edition of Nintendo Power contains a load of interesting details for the gun-toting, car-stealing, gangsta’ fest. The game reportedly uses cell-shaded graphics in an isometric 3D prospective, not too dissimilar to Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.
The GPS system that is famous in the GTA series, will make an appearance on the game, but the wanted system, has been changed to fit on the DS. Instead of escaping the police’s field of vision, you now must “disable police cars any way possible”. Which to me, says lots of shooting and explosions, Hooray!
Aiming is via the D-pad, and you auto-target with the R shoulder button. Weaponry included on the title include a flamethrower and a Duke Nukem’ style chain gun. There are also a bunch of “tasteful” mini-games on offer.
You can also use the handsets Wi-Fi connection to uploadyour game statistics to the Rockstar Social Club.
He is a list of features, casually ripped from the publication:
