The much popular suicidal Squirrels series is now available as mobile phone game. For those who are unaware, suicidal squirrels are a story of 100 cute chipmunks, who have decided to commit suicide. The whole series is of 100 episodes. In addition, the best part is that the squirrels are laughing before then kill themselves. This show is available on major TV stations across the world and on www.suicidal.tv
The game is based on similar concept where you have to lead 100 squirrels on a suicide mission. The levels have fatal death traps each and you have to guide the squirrels to them through the navigational keypad or joystick. Then squirrels automatically jump into that trap and kill themselves. The death traps are not very hard to identify, which are normally objects like saws, blades etc. The squirrels normally do most of the navigation by themselves like if they run into the wall, then they automatically change the direction and start walking in opposite direction and if they encounter edges which are not very deep, then they jump down otherwise they turn back and start walking.
Theme of the game is new as the cute squirrels are joy to kill (well for most of the people who are looking for casual gaming and to take out the day’s frustration). However, hardcore gamers will not like the game at all, as it completely lacks any game play or strategy. But the game is free to download and play. However, there could be a little bit of more gore and blood in this game, which would have made it look better, and worth a play for everyone, since when ever you get a squirrel killed there is not much of blood which could have made the game look more realistic.
Here is a video of one of the episodes of the original series: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YB4gLKnXVz4 . The game can also be downloaded from here. The game is available in j2me version, but will run on only 176×208 resolution handsets (few 240×320-resolution handsets may run it in compatibility mode)
