Puzzle anyone?

What is gaming without the classics like puzzle gaming?  We’ve been solving puzzles since the early days and what’s better on a journey than a good puzzle to keep your brain from falling asleep?  Puzzle games are our past, present and future and so it’s only fair to set aside the top few so you know exactly what you should be downloading.

Trism

Trism has been around on the AppStore since the AppStore’s teething days and can consider itself one of the original iPhone games that helped to boost the platform into the hands of millions of gamers around the world.

But what do you do in Trism?  You use the motion sensors in the phone to tilt the grid - if there is a hole in the grid then a triangle will plop through.

Edge

If physics was your subject of choice at school then this is definitely the game for you - you have to use your love and knowledge of physics to direct a droplet of water from one end of the level to the other through a series of obstacles like propellers and springs.

Although it’s less puzzle and more play you should still be thinking about giving it a go - it’ll keep you busy for hours and hours and you will start to look at sweat trickling down your face in a whole new way!

Brain Challenge

Brain training was brought to the masses, as we know, through the magic of the Nintendo DS - and of course the iPhone has to try and do one better.  Brain Challenge is often regarded as the top brain training game on the iPhone so if you like to push your brain to its limits you should seriously get your hands on this game!

Brain Challenge is kitten out with 43 great mini-games to keep your brain busy and challenged and you can try your hand at either maths, memory or perceptual acuity as you might hope with your funky brain training game.

Bejeweled 2

Bejeweled is one of those games that keeps you coming back for more.  No matter how frustrated you are with the game you can’t help but coming back for another beating!  That’s the magic of bejeweled - and now on the iPhone you can experience the matching game on a crisp, large iPhone touch screen.

Tiki Towers

This is another level game where you have to get yourself from one end of the level to the other - only this time unlike Edge you are a group of monkeys instead of a drop of water.

Get your monkeys over to the other end of the level using the bamboo sticks in the game to build different structures that they will then happily swing along.  It’s not the most challenging title to hit the iPhone but then again puzzles aren’t always about delivering the impossible.
