Top Free Games On The G1

Gl – Free Gaming

Some are claiming that the G1 Smartphone running the Google Android mobile system is set to be the most popular hand held gaming console on the market – although the guys over at Google still have a lot to do to convince me of their threat against the iPhone it’s still interesting to take a look at what they’re offering.

As with the iPhone, you can get some pretty funky games for the G1 that can be downloaded for free.  Below is a list of some of the top treats Android is advertising to play on their Smartphone.

…and they’re all free…

Ping Pong

As you can image you send a small ball from one side of the screen to the other.  Basically the idea of the game is simple fun!  You play the game by touching the screen and sliding your finger across the screen if you want to move the bar.  Simple…too simple?

Puzzle Game

You can choose between a massive selection of 27 different puzzle games making sure that you are kept busy no matter what the boring occasion you find yourself stuck in.

Although the puzzle games were originally created for the likes of Windows, Mac OS X and Unix, the puzzle games transpose in a great way to the G1 making the whole experience truly fun!

If construction is your thing then you’ll find that this is the game for you – you are tasked with the ever-fun responsibility of creating a path with a series of pipes (what a shocker).

The idea for the game has been with us since the late 80s and has seriously managed to survive by remaining simple and fun.  Go from the start of the level to the end with the pipes you have at your disposal and you won’t look back…

If there was ever a game that has featured on every gaming list since the 80s then this would be it – what a fantastic game that has easily managed to stand the test of time.

If you had come to top scientists at the turn of the 20th century with the idea of coloured blocks fitting into place they would have laughed you right out of Mensa meeting.  However, here we are still playing the game and getting just as addicted as we were all those years ago.

The game was first created by Alexey Pajitnov back in 1985 and has featured on almost every gaming console since then.  Although some spin-offs of the game have managed to disappoint, the original Tetris version has always managed to deliver, this release is obviously no exception.

If I need to explain the game to you, then you shouldn’t play it…

Google Gaming?

Do you seriously think that the G1, or any Android based Smartphone, will fair better than the iPhone as a mobile gaming console?  Do you see the G1 as a gaming unit at all?  Leave us a comment and let us know what you think…
